Bread Therapy

It snowed today and it truly looks lovely outside with a fresh white dusting on the ground.
After pumping in the wee hours of the morning, I started my day in the kitchen, around 6AM, by starting a proof for a loaf of bread for my brother. By lunch I was feeling so anxious and stressed with work, I decided I needed a focaccia for the family in the evening. I started my first rise right after devouring a fancy lunch of a frozen burrito and a couple of homemade energy bites, then got back to work at my computer.
I realized during that second bread project of the day how much writing and baking bread really comforts me. It has been a rough, isolating year and working my hands through some dough and smelling the yeast throughout the house really helps to ground me.
